A newly founded company in the Oil & Gas sector (Upstream) with a focus on projects in Western Africa is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team based in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting and treasury operations, including bookkeeping, salary processing, and VAT returns
- Prepare full sets of accounts and ensure timely monthly closures
- Deliver monthly and quarterly financial reporting for shareholders
- Prepare yearly local UAE IFRS reports and coordinate with local consultants in various jurisdictions
- Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for multiple projects
- Ensure compliance with DMCC tax regulations and manage tax reporting by coordinating with external consultants for multiple jurisdictions
- Conduct cash flow forecasting and collaborate with operations and other teams for effective cash flow planning
- Manage accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP)
- Support the development and maintenance of accounting systems for tracking and reporting financial data
- Liaise with auditors and financial professionals
- Provide support on ad-hoc financial projects as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or taxation (preferred)
- ACCA / CPA / CA / CMA certification is highly desired. Strong IFRS knowledge is required
- At least seven years of accounting experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry or within a multinational company
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel is required; experience with SAP is a plus
- Solid knowledge of VAT and corporate tax in the UAE, with experience in other jurisdictions (especially Western Africa) considered a plus
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to manage multiple projects and businesses effectively
