Accounts Payable responsibilities
- Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, and statements
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Maintain historical records
- Pay employees by verifying expense reports and preparing paychecks
- Pay vendors by scheduling paychecks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; respond to all vendor inquiries regarding finance
- Prepare analyses of accounts and produce monthly reports
- Continuously improve the payment process
Accounts Payable requirements and skills
- A great understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills is required
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Business Studies, or Accounting is beneficial
- Attention to detail and data entry skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Punctuality and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively
- Ability to adapt and foster a strong work ethic
