Overview of Role
The Group Financial Controller ensures operational and financial control across H&S Group reporting to the Directors / CEO .This role leads the controllership function, supports strategic initiatives, and collaborates with senior management on market trend analysis, financial performance, accounting, audits, strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Acting as a bridge between operational finance teams and corporate real estate finance, the Financial Controller ensures alignment on governance, business planning, funding, investment decisions, taxation, and shareholder reporting. The ideal candidate is a commercially and process-oriented leader with strong managerial, analytical, and compliance skills, ensuring precision and adherence to laws and policies.
What You Will Do
- Ensure corporate and financial governance across the group of companies.
- Review and refine new and existing processes and policies as needed.
- Support the Director(s) / CEO in addressing corporate governance issues, including: Delegation of Authority (DOA) matrix, Key Operating Guidelines (KOGs), Internal controls and Compliance with Commercial Companies Law.
- Enhance and standardize financial and management reporting, including cash flow forecasting, budgeting & forecasting and bank oversight.
- Review and document tax exposure across the UAE; develop and coordinate efficient tax strategies.
- Manage and supervise accounts team across the group of companies. Identify and assess training needs of team members to improve team efficiency. Guide, develop inspire and motivate direct reports to enhance performance and quality of work. Ensure team compliance with Group standards, procedures, and practices.
- Perform additional tasks as required to support the Director(s)/CEO.
Required Skills To Be Successful
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of Finance and Accounting, preferably Real Estate, out of which a minimum of 4 years in Big 4 audit companies
- Experience in Real Estate / Construction / Project Management industries will be preferred
- Experience in preparing of reporting packs, ideally at Group and Board level
- Knowledge and experience of IFRS, real estate operations, Dubai real estate laws and guidelines is mandatory
- Handled and worked with major ERPs / CRMs (Oracle, SAP, JDE, Hyperion, Microsoft Dynamis, SalesForce and Zoho) and excellent in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
- Strong communicator who can influence and engage senior stakeholders on a wide variety of accounting and non-accounting matters; must be able to explain complex accounting matters to non-finance stakeholders.
- Able to work independently and under pressure to deliver projects in a timely manner and to the required standard.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
