About the Role:
As a General Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, overseeing core accounting operations, and supporting compliance with UAE regulations. You will collaborate closely with the finance team and other departments to provide critical financial insights and maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Transactions & Record Keeping:
- Manage daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Record and maintain accurate financial data and ensure timely processing of transactions.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Support the preparation of management reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
VAT Compliance:
- Prepare and file VAT returns, ensuring adherence to UAE tax regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local tax laws and regulations.
Banking & Cash Flow:
- Monitor cash flow, manage bank accounts, and prepare cash flow forecasts.
Payroll Support:
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UAE labor laws.
Cost Control & Analysis:
- Analyze operational expenses and propose cost-saving strategies.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Audit & Compliance:
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary schedules, reports, and documentation.
Cross-Functional Support:
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and project teams to ensure seamless financial operations across the company’s sports and hospitality ventures.
What We’re Looking For:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA (preferred but not mandatory).
Experience:
- 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the UAE sports, hospitality, or events industries.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and UAE VAT regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally.
