Scope of Work for Regional Logistics Supervisor
The Regional Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of distribution centers within their assigned region. This includes ensuring efficient warehouse and inventory management, coordinating transportation and deliveries, and supervising maintenance of sales vehicles. The supervisor will report to the Warehouses manager and collaborate with other departments to meet regional logistics and customer service goals.
Scope of Work
1. Distribution Center Management
- Operational Oversight: Supervise and manage the distribution centers within the assigned region, ensuring smooth daily operations, optimal inventory levels, and effective storage practices.
- Inventory Control: Oversee inventory management processes, including cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and audits, to ensure inventory accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Quality Control and Safety: Implement quality control measures to maintain product integrity and adhere to safety protocols. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety standards.
2. Sales Fleet Management and Maintenance
- Sales Vehicle Oversight: Manage a fleet of sales vehicles within the region, coordinating maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections to ensure optimal vehicle performance and availability.
- Vendor Coordination: Work with maintenance vendors to schedule preventative maintenance, secure cost-effective repairs, and ensure vehicles comply with safety and operational standards.
- Fleet Utilization: Monitor vehicle usage to maximize efficiency, minimize downtime, and identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs. Track and report on fleet metrics, including mileage, downtime, and repair costs.
3. Last Mile Logistics Coordination
- Distribution and Delivery Planning: Support the Last Mile Logistics Manager in planning and coordinating last-mile delivery operations to ensure on-time, cost-effective delivery service within the region.
4. Team Supervision and Development
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support the logistics team within the region, including warehouse staff, and fleet coordinators, ensuring high levels of performance and compliance with company policies.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs for team members and provide guidance on logistics best practices, inventory management, and safety procedures.
- Performance Management: Set performance goals for the team, conduct regular evaluations, and provide feedback to foster a productive, high-performing work environment.
5. Reporting and Data Analysis
- Operational Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on regional logistics performance, fleet maintenance status, and delivery metrics to the Last Mile Logistics Manager.
- Data Analysis: Use data to assess operational efficiency, fleet performance, and cost metrics. Provide insights and recommendations to improve regional logistics operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements within distribution centers and fleet management to optimize resources and reduce operational costs.
6. Cost Control
- Cost Efficiency: Monitor logistics costs, including maintenance, transportation, and inventory expenses, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
- Vendor and Supplier Relations: Manage vendor and supplier relationships for vehicle maintenance and inventory supplies, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively across distribution centers to maintain service levels while managing within the regional budget.
Required Experience / Skills for Regional Logistics Supervisor
1. Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certifications in logistics or fleet management (such as CLTD or similar) are an advantage.
2. Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in logistics or distribution center management, with a strong focus on warehouse operations and fleet maintenance.
- Proven experience managing a regional or multi-site logistics operation, including experience in inventory management and last-mile delivery coordination.
- Background in managing sales vehicles and overseeing maintenance schedules, vendor coordination, and fleet safety protocols.
3. Logistics and Warehouse Management Skills:
- Strong knowledge of warehouse and distribution center operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and quality control.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS), as well as the ability to use ERP software for inventory and order tracking.
- Understanding of routing and dispatching processes for efficient last-mile delivery.
4. Fleet Maintenance and Management Skills:
- Experience managing a fleet of sales or delivery vehicles, including scheduling preventative maintenance, coordinating repairs, and ensuring vehicle safety compliance.
- Familiarity with fleet management software to track vehicle usage, downtime, and maintenance costs.
- Knowledge of vendor management and contract negotiation for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
5. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong analytical skills to interpret logistics data, track KPIs, and identify operational improvement opportunities.
- Problem-solving abilities to address logistics challenges, manage fleet maintenance issues, and resolve inventory discrepancies.
6. Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, vendors, and cross-functional departments.
- Ability to work closely with the Last Mile Logistics Manager, providing insights and updates on regional logistics performance.
- Proven skills in negotiating and managing vendor relationships, ensuring service quality and cost-effectiveness.
7. Leadership and Team Management Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a logistics team, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Experience with performance management, including setting goals, conducting evaluations, and implementing improvement plans.
- Ability to create a team-oriented, high-performance culture within regional logistics operations.
8. Budgeting and Cost Management:
- Experience managing budgets for regional logistics operations, including cost tracking for fleet maintenance, distribution, and labor expenses.
- Strong understanding of cost-saving strategies in logistics and fleet management, with the ability to implement cost-effective solutions.

- Focus on delivering high levels of service to internal and external customers, with the ability to balance cost and service quality.
