Eram Talent is excited to announce an opening for a Manager (Principal) Mechanical Engineer based in Saudi Arabia. This pivotal role entails leading a team of mechanical engineers and ensuring the successful execution of complex engineering projects across various sectors, including Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, and Energy.
As the Manager (Principal) Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for setting engineering standards, developing strategic initiatives, and fostering an environment of innovation and excellence. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to significantly impact project delivery and team performance.
Responsibilities
- Address technical queries regarding interpretation and use of NEOM's mechanical engineering codes & standards
- Review design packages to ensure compliance with NEOM's procedures and local and international engineering codes and standards
- Plan, oversee, and manage mechanical engineering tasks as instructed by/in coordination with ETSD management
- Maintain database of current engineering codes and standards and make available NEOM-wide via ETSD portal
- Review applications for deviations from NEOM's Plan of Work and advise sectors and regions for submitting requests for approval
- Review and continually update NEOM's procedures, guidelines, and manuals based on operational requirements and the technical needs and strategies of NEOM's Departments and Sectors
- Interact with local and international code authorities and institutions such as IBC, SBC, BSEN, ASHRAE, NFPA
- Assist with writing scope of work documents and technical criteria for the engagement of specialist technical companies
- Perform technical evaluations and commercial evaluations of technical services contracts
- Make presentations to ETSD and other sectors and departments.
- Lead and participate in technical workshops for NEOM employees
- Support team members to effectively improve team performance
- Help create a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction
Skills
- Proficiency in English (required)
- Proficiency in Arabic is a plus
- Highly collaborative, open mindset, and strong communication skills
- Ability to build effective working relations with multiple stakeholders within and outside NEOM
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks in a highly dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams
- Proficiency in the latest mechanical engineering design software
- BIM experience
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects in various sectors
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical design principles and relevant industry standards
- Strong proficiency in engineering software, including CAD tools like AutoCAD or SolidWorks
- Excellent leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills
- Effective project management capabilities with a strong focus on delivering results
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus
- Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and manage multiple priorities
Experience
- 15-20 years' experience in mechanical engineering
- Experience in the design and review of mechanical deliverables for code and regulatory compliance
- Experience with a wide variety of building typologies such as educational, industrial, civic, sporting/ leisure, recreational, residential, hospitality, cultural, etc
- Technical experience in mechanical drawings and calculations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's and/or higher degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university
- Membership of an applicable professional association related to mechanical engineering such as ASHRAE, IMechE, CIBSE
- Membership of the Saudi Council of Engineers optional
- Continued career development, such as specialized training courses/programs
