Job scope:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for owning and coordinating the month end process and all general accounting activities including account reconciliations, financial analysis and management reporting while performing accurate data entry. S/He shall recommend and improve processes and practices aiming at cost reduction and system optimization.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform closing activities on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
- Ensure proper booking and reconciliation of prepaid and accrued expenses.
- Manage accounts payables and receivables in coordination with respective stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of periodic financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Prepare special reports requested by management/direct manager.
- Support auditing activities and assist in the preparation of various schedules related to periodic audits.
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions in accordance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepare the monthly payroll and employee final settlements.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Conduct periodic financial analysis and critical reviews and report to concerned supporting management decision.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in the management of stock depreciation.
- Record all transactions with compliance to VAT and maintain related records accordingly.
- Manage all bank correspondences and reconciliations accordingly.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of accounting operations, policies and procedures while ensuring internal controls are in place.
- Ensure the existing IT platform is optimally utilized and participate in the implementation of new systems/processes.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years' of professional accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
